On April 28, 2008 Stephen M. Harnik was named a Director of the Freud Foundation U.S. a NY not-for-profit corporation which was formed to educate the public about the life, works and times of Sigmund Freud and their impact on society, culture and art. In carrying out its activities, the Foundation works closely with the Sigmund Freud Foundation, an Austrian nonprofit foundation. |

On March 17, 2008, the International Friends of the Albertina Museum, ("IFAM") a NY not-for-profit corporation under § 803 of the NCPL, formed with the assistance of HW&F, qualified for exempt status under §501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. IFAM supports the acquisition, collection and exposition of selected art work with a focus on works of paper, prints and photography in the outstanding tradition of the Albertina Museum in Vienna whose namesake, Duke Albert, founded the collection in the 19th Century. Stephen M. Harnik is a founding Director of IFAM. |

On June 6, 2007, Stephen M. Harnik was awarded a gold decoration of honor for his services to the Republic of Austria (Goldenes Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um die Republik Österreich). The decoration, which is issued by the President of Austria, was bestowed upon him by Dr. Brigitta Blaha, Consul General of New York, on October 19, 2007. The event was featured in the November issue of the Austrian lawyers' magazine Anwalt Aktuell which can be downloaded here. |

of American States in Europe in cooperation with the
Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and the U.S. Commercial
